An evening class competes with everything that happened during the day. A morning class competes with sleep, and sleep loses more often than you think.
The body is stiffer and that is fine
You will not be as bendy at seven as you are at seven in the evening. Nobody cares. A morning practice is about waking the body up, not about the deepest shape, and the stiffness you start with is a fair measure of how the night went.
The mind is quieter
Nothing has happened yet. No emails, no news, no conversation that needs replaying. That silence is the hardest thing to find in an evening class and it arrives for free at dawn.
How to make it stick
Lay out your clothes the night before. Book the class, because a booking is harder to cancel than an intention. Go to bed twenty minutes earlier for a fortnight and see what happens. Most people who try it for two weeks do not go back to evenings.
