About us
A studio built around one hour a day
Studio Yogini opened in 2014 in a former printing house on the east side of Amsterdam. Two rooms, a tea corner and a standing invitation to practise at your own pace.

How it started
Anne taught for ten years in borrowed rooms: community centres, a dance school, once a friend's attic. When the printing house came up for rent she signed the lease before she had a single student on the books.
Twelve years later there are four teachers, 19 classes a week and a waiting list for the Sunday slow flow. The tea corner is still the same table.

What we believe
Three things we hold on to
Every level, same room
We do not split classes into beginner and advanced. Teachers offer variations, and beginners learn faster next to people who have practised for years.
Small groups
Twelve mats per class. Enough people for energy, few enough that your teacher can adjust your shoulder by name.
No mirrors
A practice is a felt thing, not a looked-at thing. The mirrors came off the wall in 2017 and never went back up.
The space
Two rooms, one hallway, a lot of tea
The front room seats twelve and looks out over the canal. The back room is smaller and darker, which makes it the right place for Yin and restorative.
Underfloor heating, no hot yoga
Showers, towels and lockers included
Bicycle parking in the courtyard
Step-free entrance from the street

Work with us
We are always open to a guest class
If you teach in Amsterdam and your style would fit a small, quiet studio, send us a note. We book guest teachers for workshops through the year.
