What the hour looks like
The class to start with and the one experienced students keep coming back to. We hold the shapes long enough to feel them, name what every posture is for, and finish with ten minutes of stillness.
An hour of Hatha moves slowly on purpose. Standing postures build the legs and the balance, seated ones open the hips and the back, and between them there is time to notice how you are breathing. Nothing is rushed and nothing is skipped.
Every class is built around one idea: a hip, a shoulder, the spine, the breath. You will hear it named at the start and feel it by the end. Modifications are offered for every posture, so a first class and a fiftieth can happen on neighbouring mats.
Bring nothing. Mats, blocks and straps are here.
