What the hour looks like
Three to five minutes per shape, fully supported, nothing to achieve. The class most students say they did not know they needed.
Yin works on the parts of the body that faster classes never reach: the connective tissue around the hips, the lower back, the shoulders. We settle into a shape with bolsters and blankets, find the edge, and stay there while the body slowly lets go. There are perhaps eight postures in the whole class.
The stillness is the practice. Thoughts arrive, get noticed, and pass. Most students leave with a quieter head than they came in with, and sleep better that night.
Open to everyone, including complete beginners and anyone recovering from a heavy training week. Wear something warm; you will not be moving much.
